January 19, 2009 – QArea has finally accomplished the next generation of Skyhook SDK project, delivered by Skyhook Wireless, a provider of the Wi-Fi Positioning System (WPS).
Skyhook Wireless has launched the 3.0 version of the Skyhook SDK for application developers. There are some great new capabilities in it along with a ton of fixes after the most extensive testing that were ever done.
By adding hybrid positioning methodology to the SDK, Skyhook says it offers reliable location results to consumers in all environments. By enhancing the Wi-Fi Positioning functionality with cell tower triangulation and GPS support, Skyhook gives developers the opportunity to provide fast and accurate location results that meet consumer standards. The upgraded SDK is 75% smaller than previous versions, designed for deployment in mobile applications and devices with size constraints. It also possesses a feature that automatically enables Wi-Fi, improving the user experience by saving battery and reducing user interaction with the location functionality.
After complex tasks execution and continuous efficient cooperation with QArea mobile team, Ted Morgan, CEO of Skyhook Wireless, expressed his thanks:
“We appreciate the high level of professionalism and quality of work provided by QArea team over the project development period. We could rigorously test the system on dozens of devices across multiple platforms to ensure reliability across all Wi-Fi enabled phones. A great job in improving the quality of our product with this testing was performed by QArea and Skyhook joint team. We rely on QArea for its specialized technical capabilities in software development and testing, workflow and mobile technology. Our partnership enables us to expand our services with uncompromising quality and on schedule.”
