Cyber Security Consultant

Description
QArea is expanding into the UK/EU tender channel and launching a new Cybersecurity direction.
We’re looking for an experienced Cybersecurity Consultant to join our pre-sales and advisory activities – helping us shape strong, technically sound proposals for UK clients and frameworks.
You’ll collaborate closely with internal tech teams and leadership to advise on methodology, compliance, and delivery models.
The role is consultancy-based (freelance or part-time) and ideal for professionals experienced in penetration testing, vulnerability management, or cybersecurity architecture, especially within the public sector domain.
Requirements
- English: Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher – confident communication with UK clients;
- Hands-on experience in Penetration Testing, Vulnerability Management, and/or Cybersecurity Architecture;
- Experience in preparing or supporting pre-sales documentation;
- Familiarity with open frameworks (OWASP, NIST) and CPV codes;
- Practical knowledge of tools such as Nessus, Burp Suite, ZAP, etc.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with UK/EU government tenders or frameworks (e.g. G-Cloud, CCS);
- Relevant certifications: CREST, CHECK, OSCP, OSCE;
- Experience designing or auditing security methodologies;
- Mentorship or small team leadership experience;
- Familiarity with proposal or tender support platforms.
Responsibilities
Pre-Sales / Advisory:
- Align internal capabilities with tender requirements and framework lots;
- Advise on methodology, compliance, and delivery positioning;
- Support technical and quality sections of proposals;
- Contribute to risk management, delivery models, and framework documentation.
(Optional) Delivery Involvement:
- Act as Lead Consultant or QA during delivery stages;
- Supervise client reporting and ensure compliance with security standards;
- Mentor internal testers and share best practices.
